The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, has set the domestic natural gas price for the period from April 1 to April 30, 2025, at US$ 7.26 per MMBTU on a Gross Calorific Value (GCV) basis. This marks a 6.92% decrease from March 2025, reflecting India’s proactive strategy in adapting to global market dynamics. The adjustment underscores the nation’s commitment to ensuring stability and predictability in the domestic natural gas sector, keeping pace with evolving economic conditions while safeguarding energy security for all.

This price determination aligns with the guidelines set forth in the Ministry’s notification. Additionally, for natural gas produced by ONGC and OIL from their nomination fields, the administered pricing mechanism (APM) establishes a ceiling price of US$ 6.75 per MMBTU on a GCV basis for the same period.

The notification ensures a fair and balanced pricing framework, catering to domestic energy needs while supporting the operational sustainability of key public sector enterprises.
