India’s fertilizer production in April 2023 witnessed a remarkable growth, with urea, DAP, and NPKs soaring by an impressive 26%, 10%, and 38% respectively compared to the previous year during April month. The total fertilizer production for the month reached an impressive 3.8 million tons, with urea accounting for 2.35 million tons, DAP at 0.37 million tons, and NPKs contributing 0.67 million tons to this outstanding achievement.
In a whirlwind of fertilizer sales, urea, DAP, and NPKs stole the spotlight with remarkable growth rates of 101%, 142%, and 131% respectively. Meanwhile, the sales of MOP experienced a dip, facing a challenging decline of 63%.
The fertilizer market witnessed a surge in imports during the captivating month of April 2023, with an impressive overall increase of 16% compared to the same period in the previous year. Amongst the imported fertilizers, Urea, DAP, MOP, and NPK Complex took the lead with growth rates of 9%, 11%, 16%, and a stunning 34% respectively, outshining the imports from April 2022.
