Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, India discontinued scheme & payment of market development assistance of Rs.1500 per ton on sale of City Compost under the policy on promotion of city compost beyond 30th September 2021.
Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, India introduced this policy on 10th February 2016 for scaling up production and consumption of city compost to improve soil health.
The expenditure finance committee chaired by finance secretary and secretary expenditure, reviewed the various scheme and informed that there are already various large scheme related with organic manure and compost under various ministries (Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ welfare and MoHUA).
